Tamar Aldrich believes that it is the responsibility of every woman in the contemporary art arena to define her role and relationship to feminism. Her work relates to feminism in the manner that the themes relate to women’s lives and pastimes traditionally associated with the feminine such as gardening, flower arranging, decorating, and sewing.
She recievec a MFA in Studio Art program with a focus in ceramics, through The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She received two Bachelor Degrees in 2010 from Michigan State University; one in Art History with a minor in the Classics and another in Studio Art with a concentration in Ceramics. She has worked in the arts community in Mid-Michigan for over 25 years; teaching classes at art institutions and private schools, running a nonprofit art agency and gallery, and as the proprietress of her own retail art supply and custom framing store for over 18 years.
